/ MY STORY

Hello and thank you for visiting! My Mom's Savory and Sweet Treats has been a dream in the making for 20+ years. Having learned the basics of cooking and baking from my mother, I combined my love of baking and science and set out to start a bakery where I could use simple, everyday ingredients to create homemade savory and sweet treats. From Renaissance fairs, to fundraisers, to holiday bake sales, I have done just about everything short of owning a food truck before finally opening a brick-and-mortar bakery.

On a more personal note, I have been married to my best friend, Jonathan, for the past 33 years. We reside in Floresville, Texas, where we raised our four beautiful children, Eleazar, Amariah, Corinthia and Thaddeus. I received my BA in Biology from St. Mary’s University before heading to the University of the Incarnate Word to receive a Masters in Biology as well as a Masters in Nutrition. For the past 30 years, I taught Anatomy & Physiology and Nutrition at Palo Alto College. As of May 2024, I am retired! I enjoy spending my Saturday evening and Sunday mornings at my home parish, St. Bonaventure’s Catholic Church, where I have been an active member for over 40 years. Outside of work and church, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, running, and researching the chemistry behind the savory and sweet treats I make.
